Services Monday For Man From Murphysboro

Willis Allen Etherton, 57, of Murphysboro died in the Missouri-Pacific Hospital in St. Louis early Saturday morning following an illness of a year and a half.

He was born in Pomona in 1895, and had lived in Jackson County all of his life. He was a section man for the GM&P railroad.

He was married in 1921 to Lela Moutell, who survives. He also leaves one daughter, Mrs. Lois E. Waller of rural route 4, Carbondale, three sons, Randell and Gordon, both of Murphysboro, and Gerald, with the U.S. Navy, one grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Eva Soloman of San Antonio, Tex.

He was a member of the railroad union.

Froends may call at the Meyer-Denny Funeral Home in Murphysboro until the hour of services, Monday at 2 P.M. at the Dutch Ridge Baptist Church, the Rev. Raymond Nausley officiating. Burial will be in the Hagler Cemetery.
