Beverly Ann Etherton, 83, of Owatonna died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Homestead Hospice House.

Beverly Ann (Hanson) Etherton was born November 15, 1927 to Gordon and Evelyn Hanson. She graduated from Owatonna High School in 1946. Beverly was united in marriage to Eugene Etherton on March 19, 1949. They made their home and raised their children in Owatonna. Bev and Gene spent time grouse and pheasant hunting. They also enjoyed vacations up north with their family and friends, especially if the fish were biting. In 1980 they took a trip to Hawaii with Bev''s sisters and their husbands.

Bev enjoyed many things in life. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, taking day trips with her sisters, Mona and Pat, and playing cards with her girlfriends. Bev was a fantastic cook known especially for her brownies and garlic toast. She belonged to Senior Place and volunteered each year for new member sign ups. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Owatonna.

Beverly is survived by two sons, Gary (Mary) Etherton, and Craig (Mary) Etherton, one daughter Sara (Steve) Deming all of Owatonna. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Lisa Heitz, Chris Jones, Jeff Jones, Brian Etherton, Dale Deming, and Mandy Deming; by eight great-grand children: Andrew, Grace, Kristin, Morgan, Kaden, Maria, Danielle, and Abigail; by her brother Bernard (Glenda) Hanson and two sisters Mona (Harland) Strohschein and Patty (Ron) Hanson; by one half-sister Julie (Roger) Kittleson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Etherton, son Michael Etherton, parents Gordon and Evelyn Hanson, step-mother Nadine Hanson, and brother Gordon (Bud) Hanson.

Visitation will be at First Baptist Church on Friday from 2pm to 3pm. Memorial services will be held Friday, May 13, 2011 at 3pm at First Baptist Church with Pastor Cindy Halvorson officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens. Following the interment there will be a celebration of life gathering at Michaelson Funeral Home from 5-8pm. Memorials are preferred to the Homestead Hospice House, First Baptist Church, or to the donor''s choice.
