Allen Family Recipes - Pumpkin Upside-Down Pie
350 oven
9 x 13 greased pan
Blend:
2 - 15 oz cans pumpkin
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 1/4 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 - 12 oz can evaporated milk
Blend (you may season this any way you season your pumpkin pies) and pour
into pan, then spread the following over the top:
1 box yellow cake mix (sprinkle dry - I used my sifter to get out chuncks)
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup melted butter, drizzle over entire "pie"
Bake 1 hour. If not quite done, turn off oven and let it sit for 10 more
minutes.
Serve warm, pieces upside-down (pumpkin side up). Great with ice cream or
whipped cream!
Warning - this makes your whole house smell heavenly for hours!!!!!!
