Bernice Wilton, 88, of Murphysboro, passed away at 2:40 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2012, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro, Illinois.
One of eleven children, Lenora Bernice was born to Frederick J. Wilton and Estella (Etherton) Wilton. She was a graduate of Murphysboro High School and then went to St. Louis, Missouri to work at McDonald-Douglas Aircraft Company, where she retired as a planner at the age of 65.
Bernice was a member of the American Legion Post # 127 Ladies Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Post # 7190 Ladies Auxiliary in Murphysboro.
She is survived by two sisters Alberta Eovaldi and Peggy Means, both of Murphysboro, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six brothers Dwight, Millard "Jimmy", Arthur, Glen, Carl and William Wilton, and two sisters Nina Higgins and Mable Palisch Dillon.
