William Henry Lindsey, 91, of Gorham IL. died this morning at the Tyler Nursing Home in Murphysboro IL. after a long illness.
He was born Jan 11, 1871 in Jackson County. He was a retired employee of The Missouri-Pacific Railroad.
Mr Lindsey was married in 1892 to Ellen Reeder who died in 1920.
He was a member of the Nazarene Church in Gorham IL.
Mr. Lindsey leaves behind sons, Oscar "Dutch" Lindsey of Gorham, William Lindsey of Kewanee IL, and daughters Lela "Tuny" Snider, Bertha Butler, Rose Qualls and Vergie Worthen & Mary Qualls, 21 grandchildren,36 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Four children preceded him in death, Robert Lindsey, Edna "Sister" Pittman, and twins Jessie & Bessie Lindsey.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Nazarene Church in Gorham IL, with Rev. Robert Norton and Rev R. A. Denton officiating. Burial will be in the Goodbread Cemetery in Gorham IL.
Friends my call after 2 p.m. Thursday and until noon Friday at the Crawshaw Mortuary Chapel in Murphysboro IL.
