COBDEN - Daniel E. Rains, 57, went to be with Jesus at 9:40 a.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013, in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, after a long illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, at Pettett Funeral Home. Burial will be at Walker Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
Daniel was born April 18, 1956, in Granite City, to Earl E. Rains, and Wilma S. (Dotson) Rains.
Daniel was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Daniel is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Shawn Hanson of Vienna; one son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Stephanie Rains of Florence, Ala.; his parents of Anna; one sister and brother-in-law, Teri and Mike Bell of Jonesboro; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Yotty and Brenda Rains of Jonesboro, and Tim Rains of Murphysboro; and many, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a good friend Daniel T.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Rains and his grandparents.
