Ethel Marie Grammar, 95, passed away at 8:02 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011, in Pettett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eric Hanson officiating. Burial will be at Dutch Ridge Cemetery near Pomona. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Ethel was born Nov. 13, 1915, in Pomona, to Omar Etherton and Myrtle (Grammer) Etherton. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Grammer was a member of Dutch Ridge Baptist Church near Pomona. Ethel married Nelson Grammer on June 13, 1936, in Jonesboro, and he preceded her in death March 15, 2002.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Elois M. and Eugene Nipper of Alto Pass; two grandchildren, Debra Nelson and John Julian, both of South Carolina; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Rose Clark and Alice Julian; one brother; one sister; and her parents.
