Wilma M. "Doll" Tripp, 84, of Murphysboro, Illinois, passed away at 5:57 p.m. Sunday March 24, 2013, at the Rehab and Care Center of Jackson County, in Murphysboro.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Darnell officiating and burial at Murdale Gardens of Memory. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jackson County D.A.V. Chapter # 69 or Mt. Carbon Christian Church.

Wilma was born on August 28, 1928, in Pomona Township, Illinois, to Elta and Alma (Travelstead) Lipe.

She was united in marriage to Carl E. Tripp on August 30, 1947, and he preceded her in death on September 20, 2002.

Mrs. Tripp was a 52 year faithful member and church clerk of the Mt. Carbon Christian Church.

She was a member of the Jackson County D.A.V. Auxiliary Chapter # 69 and she served as State Commander and many other capacities. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge # 220 of Murphysboro, Women of the Moose Chapter # 1024, and Jackson County Republican Women's Club. Wilma worked at the Good Luck Glove, Jomac North, Egyptian Manufacturing, and as an Election Judge for many years.

Wilma is survived by three sisters Juanita Etherton of LeRoy, IL, Virginia Stearns and Carolyn Cano, both of Murphysboro; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters Frances Brown and Doris Maloney, three brothers Bobby, Rufus and Rondle Lipe, and her parents.
