HOMER LAFAYETTE ETHERTON
1919 - 2009
Homer Lafayette Etherton, age 90; died on September 11, 2009 at his home in Yamhill, OR. Private family services will be held.
Homer was the son of Irvy and LeNella Rowan Etherton, and was born on January 21, 1919 in Carbondale, IL. He moved to California as a young man. Homer was in the US Army Air Force during WWII and was stationed in England. He married Lillian Danielson on November 1, 1941 in Yuma, AZ and they were happily married for the next 67 years. After the war he lived in Southern California until moving to Yamhill, Oregon in 1963. He was the Manager for the Tualatin Yamhill Press in Hillsboro for many years. He enjoyed Flint Knapping, wood working, photography and was an avid rock hound. Homer was a kind, gentle, patient and generous person. He loved his family, his friends and especially the Lord. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and supported SDA Overseas Missions.
Homer is survived by his wife Lillian; son Mike; daughter Loretta of Yamhill; brothers Harold, Jack and Gene; sisters Mary Jo and June; grandchildren Lisa, Jennifer, LeNella, Keegan and great grandchildren Meghan and Jacob.
