Marianna Bennett, 76, of Runnells, IA, passed away on February 27, 2017, after a short-lived fight against cancer. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, March 2 at Iles Grandview Park Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, March 3 at 11am at Capitol City Church in Des Moines. Memorials may be given to Iles Grandview Park Chapel and will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Exercisabilities in Rochester, MN for spinal cord therapy, all in honor of Marianna.
Marianna Lucille Huffine was born October 19, 1940, in Sewal, Iowa, to Berns and Faye Huffine. She is survived by her mother Faye; her sister, Judy Wilson of Newton, brother, Dennis (and Sherry) Huffine of Omaha, NE and brother, Jerry (and Mary) Huffine of Des Moines; her husband of 48 years, Larry Bennett of Runnells; and daughter, Debbie (and Joel) Etherton their children, James and Sarah all of Melbourne, FL; daughter, Sharon Nerison and her son, Geoffrey (and Rachel) Nerison all of Des Moines and her daughter, Jessica Nerison and granddaughter, Ellie both of Montezuma; daughter, Lynn (and Matt) Johnson and their children Zachary, Meredith and Isaac Johnson all of Clive; and son, Brad (and Carissa) Bennett and his son, Bryce Bennett all of Minnesota.
Marianna's desire in life was to praise and honor God. She passed this on to her family and friends in all that she did. She emulated love and grace with every breath she took, and her family will always be grateful for this. She loved getting together with her friends and family throughout the years along with going to many different gospel music concerts with her husband and friends.
Her wish is for family and friends to celebrate her life in Christ and to trust in God through salvation.
