Thomas Lawson
Thomas William Lawson, 88, of Unionville, died June 22, 1981, at the Putnum County Nursing Home in Unionville.
The son of Isaac Newton and Mary A. Ridgeway Lawson, he was born May 26, 1892, in Hartford. On Feb. 10, 1914, he married Lellie Blanche Guffey in Unionville, who preceded him in death.
He was a life-long resident of eastern Putnum County and the Unionville area, where he worked as a farmer and coal miner.
He is survived by one son, Alva E. Lawson and wife, Loretta, of Centerville; six daughters, Mrs. Edith West of Moulton, Ia., Mrs. Edna Lewis and Louise H. Bailey both of Kansas City, Mrs. Roxie Eckles and Dorothy Knowles both of Unionville, and Mrs. Bonnie Salisbury of Kansas City; 18 grandchildren; and one sister, Jane Cline, of Livonia.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one son, Hollis; one daughter, Gracie; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers, Pearl Lawson, Adam Laswon, Chester Lawson, Jeff Lawson and Noah Lawson; and three sisters, Evaline Cline, Rachel Sparks and Lettie Cline.
Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Husted Funeral Home in Unionville, with Hershel Reed officiating. Burial will be in the Unionville Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Gene Lawson, Gerry Lawson, Darl Salisbury, Steve Salisbury. Ferrill Salisbury and Jim Knowles.
