Evelyn Miles was born April 27, 1925, in Pomona to Hobart G. and Bessie Raynor Grammer. Her siblings include Joe Grammer.
She married Howard Miles on Jan. 1, 1942, in Jackson, Mo. He survives. One son, Michael Miles of Murphysboro, survives.
Mrs. Miles was a food service employee at Southern Illinois University.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, American Legion Auxiliary Post 127, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 7190 and president of the 25th Distrct American Legion Auxiliary.
Ms. Miles died at the age of 62 in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
