Mr. Charles Todd Jr, 84, of Plattsburg, died Thurs August 1, 2002 at a Plattsburg health facility center after a brief illness.

Mr. Todd was born on May 4, 1918 in Osgood MO. In 1931, Mr. Todd moved to the Plattsburg area and remained there for 69 years.

In 1942 Mr. Todd joined the U.S. Army and served his county with pride until 1945. Mr. Todd owned and operated Todd's Produce for 10 years and for 25 years he was a State of MO Agriculture Inspector. Mr. Todd was a member of the First Baptist Church and a former Deacon, a member of the Plattsburg VFW Post #4428 in which he was a lifetime member and, a 50-year member of the Plattsburg Fire Dept.

On July 20, 1941 he married the former Alma Paisley and was married for 61 years.

Mr. Todd was preceded in death by his parents Charles A. and Jessie M. (Burditt) Todd; son, Ben Todd; 2 sisters, Mildred Carrington and Clair Barnett; and brother Donald Eugene Todd.

Survivors include his wife, Alma Todd of Plattsburg; daughter in-law, Margaret Todd Hilmer (Ron) of Manchester MO; sister, Maxola Szulik of Gower; 2 granddaughters, Lisa Van Buren (Jeff) of Wildwood and Andrea Schneider (Lucas) of New Melle; 3 great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Jason and Justin Van Buren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral: August 5, 2002 at Cox Funeral Home in Plattsburg

Burial: Cameron Memory Gardens, Cameron

Memorials: Plattsburg Senior Citizens Center, First Baptist Church, Plattsburg or the American Cancer Society.
