Deborah Sue Jones, 67, of Murphysboro, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at her residence in Murphysboro.

She was born on October 3, 1952, in Murphysboro, to James Gillooly and Barbara Sue (Lambert) Gillooly.

She was truly a great homemaker, including doing all the wonderful things a homemaker would do, including cooking, sewing, crafting, flower arranging, and decorating. She was also an avid reader. She was interested in antiques. She loved the classic TV programs of Perry Mason and Murder She Wrote. She was a very social person and loved being around people, and she was a member of the Elks.

Mrs. Jones was a member of St. Andrew Church in Murphysboro.

Deborah was survived by five children Lori (Shane) Zeboski of Murphysboro, Jamie (Johnny) Ferguson, Caruthersville, MO, Brandi (Steve) Wilcox and Michael (Tabitha) Jones, all of Murphysboro, and Katherine (Curby) McNeill of Cape GIrardeau, MO;

thirteen grandchildren Talon Zeboski, Jake Ferguson, Josie Ferguson, Hunter Wilcox, Kolbie Kiepp, Spencer Wilcox, Taylor Jones, Bria Jones, Collin Jones, Blake Jones Aaliyah Jones, Micah Jones, and Bentley McNeill;

one great grandson Paxton Allhands;

and five sisters Jamie Tuttle, Janet Stein, Regina Reed, and Barbara Dixon, all of Murphysboro, and Dee McBrien of Hampstead, MD.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

As per her wishes, her body has been donated to Medcure. It was her desire that someone might be helped or cured in the future due to her donation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Research Center like Southeast Cancer Center. This Center has a program that feeds patients or their caregiver meals if they can't afford it. They also had a Wig Salon, for people that needed a wig, and there were Journey Guides to help the individual cancer patient with any needs. Deborah received some of the care from this Center during her visits at Southeast Cancer Center.

At a later date there will be a Celebration of Life in memory of Deborah.
