MURPHYSBORO -- Hallie Belle Nausley Bost, 95, of Murphysboro, Illinois went home to be with the Lord Thursday April 4, 2002, 9:30 a.m. at the Rehab and Care Center of Jackson County.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro with the Revs. Franklyn A. Schroeder and Milton Bost assisting. Friends may call at Crawshaw Funeral Home from 8 a.m. Sunday until hour of services. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church Murphysboro, Illinois.

Hallie was born March 3, 1907, to Harlen H. and Mollie Kimmel Nausley on the family farm seven miles northeast of Murphysboro and two and one-half miles west of De Soto. She was the second child and the second daughter. There she spent her childhood with a loving family. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was baptized as a child and confirmed on Jan. 16, 1921.

She married W.J. "Wiley" Bost on Sept. 29, 1928, and enjoyed a wonderful and loving marriage of seventy-three and one-half years. Their marriage license was the first license bought in the present courthouse of Jackson County.

After she and Wiley were married, they lived in St. Louis for seven years. In 1935 they moved back to Murphysboro where they started Bost Truck Service. Hallie served as secretary-treasurer of the organization until 1975, but often stated that she never did retire. Hallie is a member of First Lutheran Church of Murphysboro, where she was an active member of the Lutheran Women's Organization and also taught Sunday School for many years. She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and also a 50-year member of the White Shrine, serving as Worthy High Priestess in 1952. She was a charter member of the Somerset Home Extension Unit.

She was a faithful wife and loving mother who enjoyed her family very much. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, W.J. "Wiley" Bost of Murphysboro; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Peggy Bost, Bill and Jacquie Bost of Murphysboro; and Bob and Rose Bost of Vergennes, and a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Jim Roberts of Murphysboro. She is also survived by nine grandsons, three granddaughters, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grand child.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, J.R. Bost, one brother, Raymond Nausley, and two sisters, Irene Fager and Frieda Nausley.
