James Hagler, age 90 of Murphysboro, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in Herrin Hospital.
He was born October 12, 1929 in Carbondale to James and Verna (Brooks) Hagler.
James married Bertha Bain on February 4, 1948. They shared 58 years of marriage. She preceded him on January 7, 2007.
He had been a driver for Selimeir Peerless and Vogler Ford in Carbondale and a car salesman for Northtowne Motors. He owned and operated Hagler Body Shop.
He was a stock car driver in his early years and enjoyed painting die cast cars. In the early 70’s he was the Governor of Carbondale Moose.
