Fredia Alice (Vancil) Brewer, 80, of Desoto, Illinois, passed away at 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, in Herrin, Illinois.
Alice was born January 17, 1941, in DuQuoin, Illinois to Irvin H. Vancil and lela E. (Crisler) Vancil.
Alice was a member of the Desoto First Baptist Church.
She loved sewing, anything that involved crafts, Quilting, and Crocheting. She also enjoyed gardening and canning food.
Fredia married Richard L. Brewer in Jackson County, Illinois and he preceded her in death April 5, 2002.
Survivors include two children Deborah Miles and husband Robert of Magalia, CA: Audie Walker and wife Judy of Desoto, IL One sister Nancy Hartsock and husband Jim; One Brother Howard Vancil and wife Shirley. Other survivors include seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Pettett Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Foster officiating, and with internment at Rowan Cemetery in Makanda, IL.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday here at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials be given to Desoto First Baptist Church.
