In the name of God Amen. I Joseph Peterson of the parish of St George and county of Spotsylvania being of sound mind and perfet memory thanks be unto God for the same do make constitue and ordain this my last will and testamint in mannor and form following

Impr imis I recommend my soul to the hand of my Great Creator and Blessed Redimmer and my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the direction of my executors here after named And as to what world by Es tate it has pleased God to bless me after the payment of my just degts & funeral charges I five and bequeath as fol lows viz:

I give and bequeath unto my son James Peterson an hundred and five acres of land where on he now lives also one negro man named Dover ...

I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Peterson one hundred and forty seven and ~ acres of land as a bond of M John Holliday to him ...

I give and bequeath unto my son George Peterson all the lands of the East side of the Suck Branch with my plantation whereon I now live to him ...

I give and bequeath to my daughter Betty the wife of Absm Swinney one shilling far ling to her and assigns ...

I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lucy the wife of James Ederton all the lands I shonto (?) on the west side of the Suck Branch also a feathor Bed and Forontwic to her & her heirs and assigns forever.

I give and bequeath unto Sally Rash one Cow and Calfe and ewe and lamb to her and her heirs and assigns forever & a young sow and pigs and dish three plates and basin.

I give and bequeath unto my gr and unto my grandson Findell Peterson ten pounds to be paid by my executors when he is twenty and one years of age.

My will and desire is that the reminderor of my estate after my death may be sold and the money divided between my sons James and George and my daughter Lucy the wife of James Edinton. And lastly of this my last will and testimint I order my son James Peterson and George to be my whole and sole exeucts revoaking and making void all other wills heretofore by me made and ratifying and confirming this to be my last will and testament as afsd in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fir s t day of February in the fith year of his majisties reign Joseph Holliday Benjamin Holliday (his mark) Joseph Peterson
